Day Trip to Amboseli Amboseli National Park (Meshanani Gate) is approximately a 2hr. drive, making it a great option for a day trip with incredible wildlife and views of Mount Kilimanjaro. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Getting There: Tandala is approximately 1hr 45 minutes’ drive from Nairobi, with the final stretch on a scenic dirt road. Detailed directions can be shared after booking, and we’re always available to assist with navigation. Together with our neighbours, we actively care for this area - regularly checking for snares and working to preserve the natural habitat. You may spot a range of wild animals during your stay and the birdlife is truly remarkable - bring your binoculars and enjoy it. Tandala is an Eco-conscious home that is powered using solar and is fully off-grid. Please use power thoughtfully. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other things to note: Tandala is a private, off-grid bush home set within a natural, unfenced environment. To help you have a safe and enjoyable stay, please keep the following in mind: Wildlife & Walking Wildlife move freely through the area and animals are occasionally seen nearby. For your safety, we recommend all walks are accompanied and any exploring is done with care. Nature & Insects As Tandala is surrounded by nature, you may encounter insects and small animals (such as bees, spiders, hyrax, monkeys, etc.). We clean thoroughly and use natural repellents, but this is part of the bush experience - please keep this in mind when booking. Fire Safety Open fires are part of the experience, but extra care is essential: • Never leave flames unattended • No smoking inside • Do not use candles in bedrooms (Fire extinguishers and smoke alarms are provided.) Children Children are very welcome but must be supervised at all times. Tandala staff are not able to provide childcare. Accommodation for a nanny (ayah) is available at an additional cost (KES 1,000 per night, including meals and bedding). Additional Guests & Staff Any additional staff (e.g. drivers) will need separate accommodation unless booked as guests. Nearby options are available in Il’Bisil. Water Tandala tap water is sourced from our natural underground spring and is safe to drink. Bottled water can be brought if preferred. Laundry Laundry service is available for items used during your stay at Tandala. Respect for the Home Tandala is a private family home with personal belongings - thank you for treating it with care. BBQ Supplies Charcoal is not provided, so please bring your own or charcoal can be purchased at the property.
